Hello all,

I am very proud to announce the birth of Ryan Shay Classic. As this race Cross Country will be held on January 18 next on the racetrack of St Martin de Brehal under the Manche departemental XC Championships .

This championship is organized by the Committee of the Manche on Athletics, the town of Granville, the Granville Athletic Club and Saucony.

Why a race dedicated to Ryan Shay ?

All the runners of this blog and others know this young American athlete who was 28 years over the marathon in the United States with Ryan Hall, Datan Riztenhein and Brian Sell were the marathon games in Beijing last August.

Ryan Shay disappeared following a heart attack occurred in the 21 km marathon selection of Beijing Games on November 3 2007 in Central Park (New York). I followed the career of Ryan since 2006. Brilliant academic, he represented the University of Notre Dame and an incredible record of victories and personal records , and marathon and half  but also track which allowed to become a professional marathoner on behalf of Saucony, American Running brand.
